The 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival returned in spectacular fashion at the Grimaldi Forum on Saturday the 14th June, lighting up the Principality with a celebration of television, talent, and devoted fandom…

From red-carpet glamour (or rather, blue carpet) to behind-the-scenes encounters with stars, the event kicked off with the presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, who welcomed guests and awarded this year’s prestigious Nymphe d’Or prizes.

The opening night saw French and international stars alike grace the scene — from TV veterans to up-and-coming talents, including Léa Drucker, Thomas Deus, and members of the cast of Demain Nous Appartient. The festival’s charm lies in its unique access: fans can meet their screen idols, enjoy autograph sessions, and take part in intimate conversations that break down the barrier between audience and actor. Fan zones buzzed with excitement, particularly for the casts of beloved French series, offering photo ops and heartfelt exchanges.

Streaming platforms and public broadcasters alike were represented, and discussions during the festival’s conferences touched on the changing landscape of television, the crossover between cinema and streaming, and the power of strong local productions. Netflix and France Télévisions received praise for raising the bar in storytelling and ambition.

The Monte-Carlo Television Festival continues through June 17, offering more premieres, meet-and-greets, and tributes. Free and open to the public, it remains one of Europe’s most accessible and engaging TV festivals — where stars and stories meet their fans face to face, and Monaco plays host to the magic of the small screen on a grand scale.
