A riot of colour and creativity swept through the Yacht Club de Monaco this weekend as the 56th International Bouquet Competition wrapped up under the theme “Flowers in Motion.” Organised by the Garden Club of Monaco under the High Patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and the presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess of Hanover, the event drew floral artists of all ages and backgrounds for a spectacular showcase of botanical artistry.

From swirling petals to imaginative table designs, competitors rose to the challenge with interpretations that dazzled both the jury and the public. “One of the most moving moments of the event is seeing all these magnificent arrangements unveiled in such a stunning setting,” said Cecilia Casiraghi, Vice-President of the Garden Club of Monaco. “This year’s theme, Flowers in Motion, was brought to life with real imagination. It’s heartening to see how floral art continues to attract new interest — especially among young people growing up in Monaco.”

Seven categories highlighted the diversity of floral design, including large-scale displays, table décor, pedestal pieces, wall art, and even a special category for children aged 6 to 14. The young participants embraced the challenge with flair, echoing the event’s growing mission to inspire the next generation of floral creatives.

A Special Jury led by HRH Princess of Hanover — featuring personalities from the arts and literary world — awarded a series of special prizes, while the Official Jury, made up of international judges, educators and floral experts, handed out Gold, Silver and Bronze Insignias, alongside the coveted Grand Prix and the Princess Grace of Monaco Prize.

The Garden Club also expanded its scope this year by launching the first edition of “Monaco en Fleurs,” a shopfront competition that saw retailers throughout the Principality decorate their windows with floral-themed displays. The initiative, supported by UCAM and the Société des Bains de Mer, was a blooming success — with Princess Caroline personally presenting the top award during the prize ceremony.
