The façade of the Prince’s Palace was transformed into a spectacular canvas of light and colour on Saturday evening as Monaco celebrated the 7th Meeting of Historic Grimaldi Sites…

Hundreds of spectators gathered on the Rock to watch an immersive sound-and-light show that brought centuries of Grimaldi history to life. Projected onto the Palace walls, the striking display traced the historic links between the Grimaldi family and the former fiefdoms invited to this year’s gathering. Through vivid imagery, animation and music, the performance explored the shared heritage that continues to connect Monaco with communities across France and Italy.

The show unfolded like a journey through time, with symbolic “drawers of memory” opening to reveal key moments in the history of the Principality and its sovereigns. Historical figures, landscapes and emblems associated with the Grimaldi dynasty were brought together in a colourful and engaging visual narrative.

The projection formed one of the highlights of the weekend’s celebrations, which brought representatives of several historic Grimaldi-linked communities to Monaco. Blending culture, history and technology, the event offered residents and visitors a unique opportunity to discover the rich legacy of the Grimaldi family while reinforcing the enduring ties that unite Monaco with its historic partners across Europe.
