A new chapter is underway at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo with the appointment of Klaus Kabelitz as General Manager, succeeding Serge Ethuin after more than a decade of leadership marked by steady growth and transformation.

Bringing extensive international experience across Europe and the United States, Kabelitz steps into the role with a strong background in luxury hospitality and a track record of leading high-profile properties. Most recently, he served as General Manager of The Kensington Hotel in London, part of The Doyle Collection, where he oversaw its repositioning into the upscale market.

His career also includes senior leadership roles at renowned establishments such as The Biltmore Mayfair under LXR Hotels & Resorts, and The Cadogan Hotel, where he led its launch and established its presence on the competitive London scene. Kabelitz has further held positions with Belmond at El Encanto, as well as at Le Richemond within the Dorchester Collection.

His experience extends to the cruise industry, having served as Hotel Director aboard the Seabourn Quest, where he managed onboard hospitality operations and played a role in post-pandemic recovery efforts.

Earlier in his career, Kabelitz spent nearly 14 years with Maybourne Hotel Group, including as General Manager of The Berkeley, after beginning his journey at Claridge’s. He also trained with leading global brands such as Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Hilton.

Recognised for his expertise in hotel openings, repositioning strategies and brand development, Kabelitz is now tasked with further enhancing the reputation of one of Monaco’s most iconic addresses.

“Joining the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo is a true honour,” he said. “It represents a unique art of living, where heritage meets contemporary elegance. Together with the teams, whose talent and dedication I greatly admire, we are committed to elevating the property even further and enriching the experience of every guest.”
