Princess Maria Carolina de Bourbon des Deux-Siciles is recovering in hospital after a terrifying motorbike accident in Monaco that left her unconscious and in intensive care…
The 21-year-old royal, daughter of Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, revealed in an emotional Instagram post that she “hit a wall headfirst” while riding her Harley Davidson, a birthday gift she received at 18.
The accident occurred just days after her appearance at the Monaco Grand Prix and Cannes Film Festival, where she was seen with her sister at high-profile events. Her post, shared with 170,000 followers, showed her lying in a hospital bed at the Princess Grace Hospital, where she was rushed following the crash.
“I’m incredibly lucky to be alive,” she wrote, calling her survival “a miracle.” The princess used the platform to share a powerful message of road safety, urging others to wear full protective gear. “My helmet saved my life,” she added, while also thanking the emergency teams whose quick actions, she said, “made all the difference.”
As reported by her Instagram account, the young royal is now on the mend — and using her near-death experience to help prevent others from facing a similar fate.
