The Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) and UBS have officially renewed a strategic partnership that transcends traditional sponsorship, reaffirming over three decades of shared history and a mutual commitment to innovation, elite sailing, and environmental stewardship.

The freshly inked agreement was signed by YCM Managing Director and General Secretary Bernard d’Alessandri and UBS Country Head for Monaco, Spain, and Portugal, Alejandro Velez. The renewed deal maintains UBS as the club’s exclusive wealth management partner, reinforcing the Swiss bank’s position at the heart of YCM’s long-term development.

UBS’s involvement with the Yacht Club traces back to the early 1990s, when Credit Suisse – now part of UBS – backed the renowned Primo Cup regatta. Since then, the relationship has evolved from supporting sailing competitions to co-creating sustainability-driven initiatives and prestigious awards such as the YCM Awards – Trophée UBS, which honour standout sailing members.

In recent years, the collaboration has taken on a global dimension, aligned with Monaco’s ambition to become a leader in sustainable yachting. UBS has been instrumental in supporting the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, a cutting-edge platform for clean propulsion innovation, and the development of the SEA Index, an emissions rating system that encourages more environmentally responsible yacht building and ownership.

Beyond its role in high-tech and sustainable marine pursuits, UBS also contributes to preserving maritime tradition through events like Monaco Classic Week, a celebration of vintage yacht design and craftsmanship.

Under the leadership of HSH Prince Albert II, the Yacht Club de Monaco serves not only as a private club of 2,500 members but also as a prominent institution championing the Principality’s role on the global yachting stage. With UBS as a key partner, the club continues to integrate financial expertise with forward-thinking strategies that support Monaco’s vision as the “Capital of Advanced Yachting.”

The renewed alliance reflects a broader ambition: to unite passion for the sea with innovation and environmental responsibility—setting a new global benchmark for excellence in yachting and sustainable maritime development.
