During a press conference, officials confirmed that the market hall will undergo a complete overhaul, set to begin in January 2026 and last 13 months. The renovation will not only update the infrastructure but also improve the comfort of traders and visitors. Key changes include removing central stalls to create an open, more fluid space and expanding balcony seating to accommodate up to 300 guests. The project, estimated to cost between €10 and €12 million, will also introduce upgraded ventilation and climate control systems to enhance the dining experience.
To ensure business continuity during the renovation, traders will be temporarily relocated to Place d’Armes, though details on their setup are still being finalized. While concerns remain about space constraints, officials reassured that ongoing discussions will address traders’ needs, particularly regarding refrigeration and cooking facilities.
