Monte-Carlo’s famous Casino Square appears set for a starring role in the fourth season of The White Lotus, with filming scheduled to bring significant restrictions to the heart of the Principality later this month…
The latest Journal de Monaco reveals that a television series will be filming around Place du Casino and Avenue de Monte-Carlo on Tuesday, September 29. Under a newly published municipal order, parking will be prohibited in the area from 03:00 until 20:00, whilst vehicle traffic will be stopped between 05:00 and 18:00. Pedestrian access may also be temporarily restricted during filming.
Although the order does not name the production, the timing and location point strongly towards HBO’s The White Lotus. Casting notices have previously sought extras to portray sophisticated Casino de Monte-Carlo guests for filming in Monaco on September 29 and 30.
HBO has confirmed that the hit series’ fourth season is being filmed in Monaco, Cannes and Saint-Tropez, with additional scenes in Paris. The Côte d’Azur-set storyline takes place around the Cannes Film Festival, with a cast including Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Heather Graham and Kumail Nanjiani.
For one day at least, Casino Square looks ready to swap roulette for a little Hollywood action.
