The Monaco Red Cross has unveiled its key initiatives for 2025 following its annual press conference, where Secretary General Frédéric Platini highlighted the association’s growing role both locally and internationally…

Responding to global crises has become a central focus, with the organization answering over 40 emergency calls in 2024, more than double the usual annual average. Whether aiding victims of natural disasters or providing humanitarian relief in conflict zones, the Monaco Red Cross continues to expand its global footprint.

At the local level, the Red Cross remains deeply committed to supporting vulnerable communities. In 2024, it provided assistance to approximately 500 households, helping with rent payments, electricity bills, and food donations in Monaco and neighboring municipalities. The organization also plays a pivotal role in partnering with local charities, such as Fight Aids Monaco and Mission Enfance, ensuring continued support for various social causes.

Looking ahead, the youth engagement initiative is set to grow, with more young volunteers joining the organization. Platini emphasized the importance of intergenerational connections, fostering relationships between young volunteers and elderly residents. The Red Cross also announced plans to host 52 national Red Cross organizations in Monaco in October 2025 for a major conference focusing on humanitarian law and climate-related crises.

A new partnership with BSAFE Monaco will launch this year, aiming to raise awareness about the dangers of drink-driving, particularly among young drivers, in response to concerning incidents in 2024.

With a volunteer base now exceeding 700 people, 40% of whom are under 35, the Monaco Red Cross is calling for new members and continued donor support to sustain its ambitious programs and expanding humanitarian efforts.
