The Grimaldi Forum Monaco has ushered in 2025 with a grand celebration, commemorating its 25th anniversary and unveiling a major expansion within Mareterra, Monaco’s groundbreaking ecodistrict.

The newly added 6,000 m² of flexible spaces, including 2,000 m² of outdoor areas, positions the Grimaldi Forum to meet growing event demands and attract a broader range of clients. Designed with sustainability as a priority, the extension boasts HQE (High Environmental Quality) certification and adheres to rigorous environmental standards, reaffirming the venue’s commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Since its inauguration in 2000, the Grimaldi Forum has evolved into a cornerstone of Monaco’s economic and cultural landscape. Annually, it hosts over 100 high-profile events, drawing more than 300,000 visitors. Prestigious gatherings such as UEFA meetings, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, and international trade shows like Luxe Pack and Top Marques have solidified its reputation. Alongside its role as a business hub, the venue has become a cultural beacon, presenting acclaimed exhibitions and live performances.

Economically, the Grimaldi Forum generates an estimated 70 million euros in indirect impact each year, reinforcing its significance to Monaco’s economy. Its dedication to sustainability is reflected in its ISO 14001 and ISO 20121 certifications, a 33 percent reduction in its carbon footprint since 2019, and the redistribution of three tons of surplus food to charitable organisations in 2024.

The dual celebration of its anniversary and expansion culminated in a spectacular event on Thursday, January 16. Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene were joined by nearly 1,000 distinguished guests for the occasion, which began with a tribute to the Grimaldi Forum’s long-standing partnership with CMB Monaco.

The highlight of the evening was a captivating performance in the Salle des Princes, featuring six tableaux that traced the Grimaldi Forum’s illustrious journey through a blend of dance and video. Directed by Jean-Christophe Maillot of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, the production starred renowned dancers Olga Smirnova and Victor Caixeta, along with students from the Princess Grace Academy under the guidance of Luca Masala.

Following the artistic performance, HSH Prince Albert II and HSH Princess Charlene inaugurated the expanded facilities, with Father Jean-Ariel Bauza-Salinas offering a ceremonial blessing. Guests explored the new spaces during a sophisticated cocktail dinner before the night concluded with an energetic Electro Winter Party. Performances by Bon Entendeur, Parallelle, and DJ BALOO provided an electrifying finale to the festivities.
