The Aeronauts of Monaco brought the colours of the Principality to new heights during the 35th International Hot Air Balloon Festival in Mondovi, held from Saturday, January 4 to Monday, January 6. This renowned event, which combines sport and spectacle, attracted large crowds to the Aéroclub de Mondovi and across the picturesque Piedmont town.

Representing Monaco with pride, the iconic balloon led by Alain Cruteanschii navigated challenging weather conditions to take to the skies multiple times. Flying as high as 1,000 meters, the Monaco balloon stood out amidst a vibrant assembly of international participants, delighting onlookers with its graceful ascents and captivating presence.

Each flight was a meticulously coordinated effort, from preparing the balloon at the launch site to its eventual takeoff and safe landing. Teams maintained close communication throughout the journey, ensuring smooth operations both in the air and on the ground.

In addition to daytime flights, the festival featured a mesmerising “night show,” where hot-air balloons illuminated the evening sky without taking off. The Monaco balloon was among the highlights of this magical display, enchanting spectators and local dignitaries alike.

Alain Cruteanschii, President of the Aeronauts Club of Monaco, expressed his gratitude for the long-standing partnership with Mondovi, saying, “With our close ties to Mondovi, it’s important for the Monaco balloon to be part of what is historically the first festival of the year. It’s a wonderful moment of fraternity and exchange with our Italian friends.”
