The fourth edition of the Mozart Festival in Monaco is set to captivate audiences from Thursday, January 23 until Sunday, February 2, with a rich program of seven concerts and two opera evenings in collaboration with the Opéra de Monte-Carlo.
Among the festival’s highlights is a special focus on the clarinet, featuring performances by renowned clarinetist Pierre Génisson. Additionally, young talents will take centre stage, with violinist Bohdan Luts and pianist Alexandra Dovgan performing under the baton of conductor Kazuki Yamada. The festival will also present a program bridging baroque and classical styles, directed by esteemed Dutch conductor Ton Koopman.
Festival-goers can look forward to two “Happy Hour Musicaux” sessions, where musicians from the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo (OPMC) will perform in chamber ensembles. A special concert aimed at young audiences will explore Mozart’s early years in Italy, offering an educational glimpse into the composer’s formative experiences.
This year’s festival introduces a Spiritual Candle Concert at Monaco Cathedral, conducted by the young Italian maestro Diego Ceretta and featuring soprano Emőke Baráth. This concert will showcase some of Mozart’s sacred works, providing a serene and reflective experience within the cathedral’s historic setting.
The Mozart Festival in Monaco continues to be a significant cultural event, celebrating the timeless genius of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart through a diverse array of performances that honour his enduring legacy.
