Even the finest drivers can have a momentary lapse in concentration. Formula 1 and Scuderia Ferrari ace Charles Leclerc, a native of the Principality, was recently caught on camera experiencing just that while navigating the streets of his hometown in a Ferrari Purosangue.

Leclerc, who knows the streets of Monaco like the back of his hand, accidentally bumped into the rear of a stationary car. The incident, which occurred near the famous Fairmont Hairpin, was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media.

In the footage, Leclerc, visibly taken aback, leans forward in his seat, appearing slightly embarrassed by this minor mishap. Fortunately, there was no visible damage to the other car’s bumper, and Leclerc was seen making an apologetic gesture to the driver before continuing on his way. It remains unclear if the two vehicles stopped to exchange details, as the clip ends shortly after the bump.

This light-hearted moment off the track comes just days after Leclerc’s stunning victory at Monza, where he triumphed on Ferrari’s home soil, finishing ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. This marked his second win of the season, his first being in Monaco. Leclerc currently sits third in the championship standings, trailing Max Verstappen by 86 points and Norris by 24 points, with eight races remaining. The F1 circus now heads to Azerbaijan for its next showdown following a two-week break.

For Ferrari’s star driver, who has enjoyed a string of recent podiums, this slight fender-bender is unlikely to slow him down as he charges toward the title.
