As part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the National Council’s membership of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IUP), many elected representatives of yesterday and today were present on Tuesday, October 3, to salute their work over the years in the highest international parliamentary bodies.
The President of the National Council, Mme Brigitte Boccone-Pagès, praised: “The inexhaustible in-depth work that elected officials must accomplish at the service of the Principality and its population.”
After broadcasting a video message, specially recorded for this event by Duarte Pacheco, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Fabrice Notari, President of the External Relations Commission of the Monegasque Delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, pointed out that the IPU is dedicated to promoting peace through diplomacy and dialogue, recalling that it has become: “The truly world organisation of national parliaments, with 179 Parliaments as members and 14 associate members.”
Fabrice Notari proceeded to hand over the commemorative medals to all former elected officials present. They were also invited to sign the guest book opened on the occasion in the Prince Albert I Library in the National Council building.
