After a successful few seasons of selling talent, AS Monaco has begun reinvesting in the squad, having signed Denis Zakaria from Juventus for 20 million euros.
Following on from a season long loan spell at Stamford Bridge in Chelsea blue, Zakaria joins the Monégasques in move that has gone down very well with supporters of the club, with which he will remain until his five year long contract expires in 2028.
Standing at 1.90 meters tall, the 26 year-old player will strengthen the Monaco midfield with not only his physical stature, but also years of experience gained from competing in the top flight in England, Italy and Germany.
Zakaria’s performances at club level have earned him numerous caps with the Swiss national team, in which he has become a key figure. He has represented Switzerland at the last four major international tournaments; the European Championships in 2016 and 2020 and the World Cup tournaments in 2018 and 2022.
Zakaria will be reuniting with compatriots Breel Embolo and Philipp Köhn, becoming the third Swiss international in what is becoming a promising Principality side.
