Members of the British Association of Monaco (BAM) came together on Thursday evening at Stars’n’Bars to reminisce about what the popular local venue had meant to them over the years. ‘Stars’ is due to close on January 27.
Yvonne Bernhardt, a 40-year Monaco resident and President of BAM, said: “It was a well-run family oriented place where we could go for peace and quiet whilst getting our children looked after by staff in the children’s playroom whilst enjoying a meal from a well rounded menu.”
She added: “It’s sad times, but they have obviously decided that they went to move on after 30 years of service, which is a nice round number.”
BAM helps bring English speakers, not just British people, from the area together for social occasions. The association also performs very valuable social work in support of anglophone residents who may need a little extra help.
