A Monaco resident, 77, has died of coronavirus, the Monaco Government announced on Thursday evening, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 38.

Meanwhile, sixty-nine residents tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday, December 23, a new daily record, surpassing the previous highest number of 63.

The number of patients suffering from coronavirus symptoms being treated at Princess Grace Hospital has risen to 25. Six residents are among their number.

Meanwhile, 294 residents with mild symptoms are recovering at home under the supervision of the Home Monitoring Centre. This is also the highest number since the start of the pandemic.

The Government has restated its position that vaccination is the only solution to protect oneself and others. Vaccination is free for Monegasques and residents.
