AS Monaco beat PSV Eindhoven for their 200th European match victory on the evening of Thursday, October 21.

For the third matchday of the Europa League group stages, the Principality side travelled to face off against Eredivisie side Eindhoven, and came out on top after an intense 90+5 minutes of football.

The visiting Monegasques managed to deal an early blow to the hosts, as Myron Boadu scored his debut goal with Monaco at the 19th minute from an assist by Ciao Henrique in midfield.

PSV were not beat yet though, and continued to take shots until Cody Gakpo found the equaliser at the 59th minute.

The following minutes saw a large reshuffling of players on and off the benches, as both sides put up a fight for a win. Statistically speaking, PSV were taking many more shots than Monaco at this point, but Sofiane Diop came to the rescue with a last minute winner.

Diop proved to be the star substitute as he found the back of the net from a close range assist by Henrique, bringing the scoreline to 1-2 at the 89th minute and taking Monaco to the top of their Europa League Group table.

The next European fixture for Monaco will be against PSV again, but this time at the Stade Louis II on Thursday, November 4. In the meantime, the Monegasques will play two Ligue 1 fixtures, against Montpellier on Sunday, October 24 and against Brest on Sunday, October 31.
