A workman, aged 60, was fatally injured on Friday morning while working on the Larvotto Beach construction site. The accident involved a truck carrying sand for the beach itself and the incident took place opposite the Bahia residence on ave. Princesse Grace.
Two medical staff from CHPG attended the scene and administered cardiac massage but were unable to resuscitate the victim.
Part of the site was sealed off while a police investigation is underway. The Government expressed its condolences to the man’s family.
The beach is due to reopen to the public this summer.
