The major annual sport and media event, Sportel, will go ahead as planned at the Grimaldi Forum in October, Laurent Puons, CEO of Monaco Mediax said. The dates are October 25 to October 28.
With four months to go, the organising team is working in close cooperation with the Grimaldi Forum to guarantee that all the necessary arrangement are in compliance with the Government’s preventative health measures.
To date, the Grimaldi Forum has provided its clients with precise guidelines describing the hygiene and social distancing measures as well as gesture barriers recommended and/or to be applied during the events, such as temperature measurement at the entrance of the congress centre, compulsory wearing of a mask, the provision of hydro-alcoholic gel and complete cleaning and disinfection with virucide EN 14476.
“We are optimistic about business resuming activity. Widely recognised for twenty years for its ability to adapt to all the needs of event organisers, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco has always placed security as its top priority. We are doing everything we can to put in place optimal reception conditions. We have a busy schedule starting in September, and we are particularly pleased to welcome this 31st edition of SPORTEL from 25 to 28 October,” said Sylvie Biancheri, General Director of the Grimaldi Forum.
For its part, Monaco Mediax is also working on a a sanitary plan at the Grimaldi Forum with a reorganisation of the various welcome areas to guarantee a minimum distance between participants and a regular cleaning of the conference and exhibition facilities. These measures will naturally have to be confirmed and adapted according to the health emergency in force at the time of the event.
“We are fully operational with the perspective of carrying out the organisation of SPORTEL Monaco and SPORTEL Awards. The health of our participants is paramount and remains our major concern. We are doing everything in our power to guarantee that health standards are respected, enabling us to welcome our participants with complete peace of mind,” said Laurent Puons.
“Furthermore, Monaco’s geographical location on the shores of the Mediterranean, and the architecture of the Grimaldi Forum, with large openings to the outside, facilitating ventilation, are assets when it comes to the prevention of the risks linked to COVID-19.
“Together with the measures taken by the Monegasque Government, which is carrying out massive screening of its resident and salaried population, these arrangements confirm that SPORTEL events can be organised in Monaco under the best possible conditions,” Mr Puons said.
