The Prince’s Government has told representatives of the National Council that it has started implementing a system to test the population for coronavirus with the aim of gradually testing everyone in the Principality.
At the seventh meeting of the Covid-19 Joint Monitoring Committee, on Thursday, May 7, ministers and representatives of the elected body took stock of progress so far since the ending of lockdown in Monaco on Monday, May 4.
In a press statement after the meeting, the Government said that “the results are satisfactory.” Commercial outlets have successfully implemented measures such as social distancing since reopening on Monday.
The Government is in contact with the French authorities in regard to Monegasques and residents crossing into French territory so that there is “legal certainty,” the Government said.
Finally, the French train operator, SNCF, is increasing the number of trains serving Monaco Monte-Carlo. The next Joint Monitoring Committee will meet on May 14.
