Over the past two days, as in all European countries, the coronavirus epidemic has grown in the Principality, the Government said in a statement on Sunday afternoon.

After being able to significantly slow the epidemic in the past two weeks, the Principality’s health authorities have been informed that four more people have tested positive over the weekend. This brings the number of people infected in the Principality to seven.

Most of these patients have only mild symptoms and have returned to their homes. One person is currently hospitalised at the CHPG. In accordance with the treatment regime adopted by the Monegasque authorities, home confinement is preferred with medical follow-up coordinated by the CHPG. This policy ensures patient comfort while preserving public health as much as possible.

Each time, an investigation has been launched in order to find out the movements made by these patients over the previous few days to identify the people with whom they have been in contact.
