The AS Monaco player who earned a red card during last Saturday’s game against Nimes could be banned for up to six months. Gelson Martins pushed the referee twice while complaining about a red card awarded to his team-mate Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Both men were sent off in the 32nd minute, resulting ion Monaco playing with just nine men for the rest of the game, which was lost 1-3.
The LFP disciplinary committee will meet on Wednesday, February 5, to decide Martins’ fate, which at minimum will be an eight-game ban.
Monaco should have won the game, on both sides’ form, and were one-nil up at the time of the incident.
