An extensive array of photovoltaic panels has been installed on the roof of the Fontvieille fire station, the latest in the ongoing energy transition programme and the largest to date.

This facility covers an area of 490 square metres and includes 299 photovoltaic panels. It will produce 113 MWh of electricity injected directly into the electrical system of the barracks.

This production will reduce the release of CO2 in the atmosphere by 9.3 tonnes per year and make the entire barracks and its 40 homes close to 37 percent electrically self-sufficient.
