A collision between two motorbikes in the Fontvieille tunnel in the early hours of Friday morning left three people injured, two of them seriously. A Monegasque couple in their fifties were taken to Pasteur Hospital in Nice with multiple fractures, the local French daily Monaco Matin reports.

The rider of the second vehicle, a member of the Prince’s Carabiniers, who was riding a Harley Davidson machine, suffered less serious injuries and was also hospitalised. Twelve firefighters and the Police attended the scene as well as emergency medical personnel. Police are studying CCTV footage to help determine the cause of the accident.
