The 43 year-old Monegasque woman who was stabbed several times in an attack in her home on blvd. du Jardin Exotique in Monaco’s Moneghetti district on Thursday evening is in an improved condition at the Pasteur Hospital in Nice, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Following the multiple stabbing, reportedly by her husband, the victim, helped by her neighbour who heard screams, was able to take refuge in the local Costa coffee shop at 37 blvd. du Jardin Exotique, where she was given first aid by a local pharmacist and on off-duty fireman before Monaco’s emergency services attended the scene.
The perpetrator – who has psychiatric problems, according to reports – was arrested shortly afterwards and a criminal case has been opened.
