Two Hermès travel bags will be auctioned on Friday, July 19, at the Hôtel Hermitage. The bags in question once belonged to actress Jane Birkin and her late partner Serge Gainsbourg.

Dating from the 1970s, both bags have golden brass metal trim. The auction house Artcurial estimates the Haut à Courroie 50 bag will fetch between 2,000 and 4,000 euros and the American garment bag between 1,500 and 2,500 euros.

The sale is part of the annual Hermès Summer Collection sale, with proceeds from the sale of the two Hermès pieces going to independent humantiarian movement Medecins sans Frontiers.

Founded in Paris in 1837, Hermes has grown to become one of the world’s most famous luxury labels. Artcurial was established in Paris in 2002 and has grown quickly across ten strategic locations.
