Monaco’s basketball team qualified for the final of the Coupe de France on Sunday, which will take place in Paris on April 22.
Last weekend, coach Sasa Obradovic’s team defeated Pau-Orthez (98-78) in the quarterfinals and Le Mans (87-78) in the semifinals. In the final, ASVEL (from Villeurbanne-Lyon) is the opponent. Both teams played the final against each other last season for the French championship and to represent France in the Euroleague (the Champions League of basketball).
Roca Team is also currently the leader of the regular French league and is in a surprising third place in the Euroleague (behind Olympiakos and Real Madrid), after a handsome victory over Italian champions Bologna last Thursday. It can win the Coupe de France for the first time. The final will be played in the sports palace of Bercy (Paris).
