Nearly 1,200 athletes descended on Larvotto Beach on Sunday, November 8, as the Monaco International Triathlon returned to the Principality for the first time in 14 years.

The long-awaited comeback brought competitors to the starting line for a demanding challenge combining swimming, cycling and running, with two different race formats on offer.

The cycling stages provided one of the event’s most distinctive features, taking participants along part of Monaco’s iconic Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit before heading into the surrounding hills.

Riders faced a challenging route through Èze, La Turbie and Beaulieu-sur-Mer, adding significant elevation and testing their endurance beyond the streets of the Principality.

The return of the competition marks the revival of an event that once formed part of Monaco’s international sporting calendar, bringing together a large field of athletes for a demanding test against the backdrop of the Riviera.
