Monaco has secured a new distinction on the international culinary stage, with Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo entering the prestigious World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking for the first time.

The celebrated restaurant was placed 47th in the 2026 edition, unveiled during an awards ceremony in Lima, Peru, on Wednesday, November 4. The event brought together almost 1,200 chefs, food journalists and industry professionals to recognise leading establishments from across the world.

The achievement marks the first appearance in the ranking for a restaurant belonging to Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), as well as the first time an establishment in Monaco has featured on the list.

Led by internationally renowned chef Alain Ducasse, Le Louis XV is recognised for its Mediterranean-inspired approach to fine dining, known as Naturalité, which places emphasis on seasonal ingredients and the flavours of the region.

The restaurant’s success is also a reflection of the work of its wider culinary and service teams, led by Executive Chef Emmanuel Pilon, Head Pastry Chef Sandro Micheli, Head Sommelier Hélène Tessera and Restaurant Manager Giovanni Pitton.

Ducasse, who now holds 18 Michelin stars across his restaurant portfolio, praised the team’s commitment and creativity, highlighting its ability to bring a contemporary perspective to haute cuisine while delivering memorable experiences for guests.

The latest international recognition adds to the restaurant’s already distinguished history. Le Louis XV was the first hotel restaurant to receive three Michelin stars, establishing itself as one of the defining names in Monaco’s fine-dining scene.

For SBM, the result further reinforces the Principality’s position as an international gastronomic destination. The group operates more than 30 restaurants and bars, with a combined total of ten Michelin stars across Monaco.

Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, congratulated Ducasse and his team, describing their internationally recognised cuisine as an important contribution to the reputation of both the group and Monaco as a destination.

The 47th-place finish gives Le Louis XV a new international accolade and places Monaco firmly among the destinations represented in one of the world’s most closely followed restaurant rankings.
