Monaco is seeking to strengthen its economic ties with Asia through a high-level mission to Hong Kong and Shanghai, bringing together government representatives, financial institutions and business leaders to promote the Principality as an attractive destination for international investment…

Led by Ludmilla Raconnat Le Goff, Delegate for Attractiveness, the Invest Monaco initiative brings together representatives from Société des Bains de Mer, Yacht Club de Monaco, the Monegasque Association for Financial Activities, the financial regulator CCAF, MonacoTech and several local businesses and start-ups.

The delegation’s programme includes meetings with banks, financial associations and private investors, alongside discussions exploring opportunities for cooperation. The mission comes at a particularly significant moment following Monaco’s recent removal from the Financial Action Task Force’s grey list. This development is expected to strengthen confidence among international financial institutions and provide a positive foundation for discussions with prospective investors.

Hong Kong’s evolving position as a gateway for Chinese investors seeking opportunities overseas also presents potential advantages for Monaco. Representatives highlighted the Principality’s financial expertise, political stability and strategic location as attractive qualities for Asian families looking to diversify their investments and establish a European base.

Organised in cooperation with Monaco’s Ambassador to China, Marie-Pascale Boisson, the mission will continue in Shanghai, where the Principality maintains a presence at the China International Import Expo.

While immediate agreements are not necessarily expected, the delegation hopes to establish lasting relationships capable of generating future investment, business partnerships and new economic activity in Monaco.
