The first MCFW Rendez-Vous concluded in Monaco on Friday, October 16, after three days of fashion presentations, industry discussions and exclusive events centred on creativity, innovation and sustainability.

Organised by the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode, the initiative aims to expand Monte-Carlo Fashion Week into a twice-yearly event, with separate spring-summer and autumn-winter editions. The new format is intended to provide greater visibility for emerging designers and strengthen Monaco’s position as an international meeting point for contemporary fashion.

“This first edition is part of our ambition to organise Monte-Carlo Fashion Week twice a year,” said Federica Nardoni Spinetta, president and founder of the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode. She added that the objective was to support Monegasque designers and encourage dialogue between fashion, sustainability and innovation.

One of the highlights was the spotlight on Di Iorio Monaco, a young Monegasque footwear label founded by sisters Samantha and Alicia. The brand inaugurated its boutique at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo, offering an opportunity to discover its designs following their presentation at Monte-Carlo Fashion Week in April, in collaboration with local brand Beach & Cashmere Monaco.

Sustainability was also central to the programme, with a discussion entitled “Is Fashion Sustainable?” moderated by Léa Calori of the Princely Government’s Communication Directorate. The panel featured Thierry Leviez, director of Pavillon Bosio, who presented his book Théâtres de la Mode, exploring fashion scenography from the 19th century to the present day, alongside American environmental fashion designer and sustainability specialist Runa Ray.

Ray’s work with the United Nations and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation brought an international perspective to discussions about the environmental impact of the fashion industry and the development of more circular approaches to production and consumption.

The programme also featured Monegasque eyewear brand Valtoria, which opened its showroom and workshop to selected journalists, VIP guests and clients. Designer Gabriela Tarkanyi Maldonado presented the brand’s latest creations during an exclusive brunch.

Luxury fragrance house Xerjoff added a sensory dimension to the event through an experience showcasing its approach to perfumery, while Italian cashmere brand Falconeri presented its collections at a pop-up boutique inside the Fairmont Monte-Carlo. The installation, arranged by Vera Facchetti Lifestyle, also featured accessories from TheRe, a specialist in second-hand fashion and circularity, before concluding with a cocktail reception.

The organisers say the successful inaugural MCFW Rendez-Vous supports their ambition to develop Monaco as a platform where established luxury houses, emerging designers and sustainability experts can exchange ideas.

The next main edition of Monte-Carlo Fashion Week is scheduled to take place from April 12 to 16, 2027.
