Every November, the Chapiteau de Fontvieille turns into one of Monaco’s most unusual running tracks, and registration has now opened for this year’s edition, running from November 14 to 22.

There’s no set distance and no set pace. Runners and walkers simply cover whatever ground they can, alone or in teams, for as much of the eight days as they like. Each kilometre logged earns Children & Future €1, raised through entry fees, donors and sponsors, to fund projects supporting disadvantaged and sick children.

Within that broader window sits a tougher challenge for those who want it: a standalone 24-hour race. To keep the course clear for competitors taking on that test, pushchairs and dogs are barred from the circuit between 8pm on Friday, November 20, and 8pm the following day.

Now in its 27th year and held under the High Patronage of Prince Albert II, the event remains open to everyone, licensed athletes and casual participants alike.

Sign-ups are available through the Children & Future website, though latecomers won’t be shut out. Registration also runs directly at the Chapiteau for anyone who misses the online deadline.
