The Diamond League fixture produced a remarkable haul of records, including a world record, two Diamond League records and multiple meeting records before an enthusiastic Monaco crowd.
Saturday evening opened with outstanding field events. Australia’s Nina Kennedy cleared 4.95m to set a new Oceania pole vault record, while China’s Yan Ziyi dominated the javelin with a throw of 68 metres. Cuba’s Leyanis Pérez Hernández produced the fourth-best women’s triple jump in history with a superb final-round leap of 15.06m.
On the track, Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino set a meeting record in the women’s 400m, while American Quincy Hall clocked 43.44 seconds in the men’s race, the sixth-fastest time ever recorded. The highlight came in the men’s 1,000 metres, where Olympic and world 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi stormed to a new world record of 2:11.83.

Elsewhere, Mondo Duplantis won the pole vault, Miltiadis Tentoglou triumphed in the long jump and Ukraine’s Oleh Doroshchuk claimed the high jump. Julien Alfred thrilled spectators by setting a meeting record and producing the third-fastest women’s 200m in history, while Oblique Seville won the men’s 100m in 9.88 seconds.
Monaco-based Olympic triathlon champion Cassandre Beaugrand also stole the spotlight, breaking the 21-year-old French 3,000m record with an outstanding 8:32.86 on her Diamond League debut. Her composed, tactical performance provided a fitting conclusion to another historic edition of the Herculis EBS Meeting.
