Monaco Mediax’s Board of Directors has appointed Amparo Di Fede as the company’s new General Director, succeeding Laurent Puons, in a move the company says marks a new chapter built on continuity, innovation and the consolidation of its activities.
Di Fede brings more than 30 years of experience at Monaco Mediax to the role, having held several senior management positions over the course of her career there. Between 2003 and 2018, she served as General Manager of SPORTEL, a period during which she launched the event’s first edition held outside Monaco, in the United States, before going on to expand the brand further into Asia, North America and South America, playing a significant role in SPORTEL’s international growth.
She currently serves as Chief Administrative and Financial Officer, a position she will continue to hold alongside her new duties as General Director. Her deep familiarity with Monaco Mediax’s portfolio of events, combined with her broader background in management, organisation and business development, was central to her appointment, as the company looks to navigate an increasingly fast-changing industry landscape.
Speaking on her appointment, Di Fede described the moment as a deeply significant one, both personally and professionally, saying it represents an important new chapter in her career with the company, while also carrying real weight given Monaco Mediax’s history, know-how and expertise. She said that alongside the wider team, the ambition is to further strengthen the company’s position across the sports, media, television and entertainment industries, building on its distinctive identity to grow its portfolio of events.
She identified the company’s priorities as building on the continued success of its flagship events in Monaco while accelerating international growth, identifying new opportunities and developing projects capable of delivering lasting value for both partners and audiences. She added that the new leadership structure brings fresh momentum, rooted in complementary expertise, strong team commitment and a shared ambition for the company’s future.
The appointment also reflects a broader evolution in Monaco Mediax’s organisational structure, designed to create greater synergy across its various activities and support its next phase of growth. Alongside Di Fede’s new role, the Executive Directors overseeing the company’s individual event divisions will also take on expanded responsibilities, reinforcing the collective expertise driving the company forward.
With this new structure in place, Monaco Mediax says it remains focused on strengthening its three flagship brands, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, SPORTEL and the SPORTEL Awards, as it continues working to establish itself as a leading international organiser of events dedicated to the television, sports and media industries.
