Monaco’s prosecutor general has issued a formal press release confirming that a foreign national was detained in Monaco on Wednesday morning in connection with the June 29 bombing, but was released without charge in the early afternoon following verification checks.

The statement, dated Wednesday, July 1, confirms that the condition of the woman critically injured in the blast has not stabilised and that her vital prognosis remains engaged — consistent with earlier official descriptions of her condition as critical.The two adult victims remain unable to be interviewed by investigators. The 13-year-old boy injured in the attack has been interviewed by French authorities.The prosecutor confirmed that all sealed evidence is being actively examined, including the explosive device itself and material relating to the identification of the suspect, who remains at large. The investigation is continuing with the active support of French authorities.The Sûreté publique de Monaco remains fully mobilised. The prosecutor general said further press releases would follow in the event of new developments or changes to the procedural framework of the investigation.
