As part of preparations for the upcoming summer season, the Princely Government has announced that reprofiling works will take place on Larvotto beach from April 7 to April 24, 2026…

The operation aims to ensure optimal conditions for visitors and maintain high safety standards ahead of the busy summer months. During the works, a temporary ban on swimming and scuba diving will be in effect within the two Larvotto bays. However, this restriction will not apply to state divers, vessels involved in the works, or maritime sporting activities organised by associations or schools.

Work will be carried out daily from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Authorities have scheduled these hours in an effort to minimise disruption to nearby restaurants and beach establishments. Despite the works, sections of the beach will remain accessible, depending on the progress of the operation.

To protect the surrounding marine ecosystem, particularly the Larvotto Marine Reserve, two anti-turbidity nets will be installed for the duration of the works. These barriers are designed to prevent sediment disturbance from spreading into protected waters.

Officials also note that a swimming ban is already in place in the western section of the beach due to ongoing works related to the removal of geotubes and the construction of eco-designed rock islands. Those works are expected to be completed by the end of April.
