Monaco’s Fire Brigade responded to a balcony fire at a residential building on Square Kraemer in Beausoleil on Saturday evening, August 1, called to the scene at around 7.30pm.
Eighteen firefighters were mobilised to bring the blaze under control and carry out safety checks throughout the building. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The intervention reflects the close cross-border cooperation between Monaco’s Fire Brigade and neighbouring French communities. Under a longstanding arrangement, Monaco’s firefighters are responsible for covering not only the Principality itself but also several adjoining French municipalities, including Beausoleil, Cap d’Ail, and parts of La Turbie and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.
These cross-border interventions account for roughly a quarter of the Corps’ overall call-outs each year, a legacy of Monaco’s compact geography and its deeply intertwined relationship with the surrounding Alpes-Maritimes region.
