An apartment in Monaco’s Condamine district was severely damaged by fire early on the morning of Sunday, January 25, triggering the evacuation of several residents and a large-scale response from emergency services.
According to information reported by Monaco-Matin, firefighters were alerted shortly before 8:00. after smoke was seen rising above a residential building in the area. A total of 26 firefighters, supported by seven emergency vehicles, were dispatched to the scene.
The blaze broke out on the fifth floor of the Les Jacarandas residence, completely destroying a 70-square-metre flat. The occupant of the apartment was not injured. However, one person was taken to Princess Grace Hospital for medical checks as a precaution; their condition was not considered serious.
By the time firefighters arrived, 24 residents had already evacuated the building on their own initiative. Emergency crews secured the premises and carried out safety inspections to ensure there was no risk of the fire reigniting later in the day.
An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the incident. No further injuries were reported.
