One of Monaco’s most cherished musical traditions returns next month, as St Paul’s Anglican Church once again hosts its annual performance of Handel’s Messiah…
Renowned throughout the region and firmly established as a highlight of the pre-Christmas calendar, the concert will take place on Saturday, November 29, offering an evening of uplifting choral music in an intimate and atmospheric setting.
This year’s performance will be conducted by Errol Girdlestone, a long-standing favourite of Monaco’s classical music community. He will be joined by an exceptional line-up of soloists: soprano Felicity Murphy, alto Imogen Woodhead, tenor Gavan Ring and bass Simon Bailey. They will perform alongside the acclaimed Ristretto Chamber Choir and Orchestra, whose precision and warmth have made this event a sell-out year after year.
Tickets are priced at €30 and can be purchased online in advance. While tickets will also be available at the door, organisers strongly recommend early booking, as previous editions have reached capacity well before the performance date.
First premiered in 1742, Handel’s Messiah remains one of the most celebrated works in the choral repertoire. Its blend of soaring arias, powerful orchestration and the iconic “Hallelujah” chorus continues to move audiences nearly three centuries after it was written.
