As winter approaches, health authorities are urging residents to get vaccinated. The Department of Health and Social Affairs has launched this year’s campaign, allowing flu and Covid-19 vaccines to be administered during the same appointment.

The combined option is intended to simplify the process and encourage uptake among those most at risk. Both vaccines can be safely given in different injection sites. Pharmacies across Monaco stock the vaccines, and residents can either get vaccinated on-site or take the doses to their doctor or nurse. A prescription is required for the Covid-19 shot when administered by a nurse.

This year’s campaign focuses on priority groups, including people aged over 65, pregnant women, individuals living with chronic health conditions or obesity, and residents of care facilities. Officials stress that early vaccination remains key, as the body needs several weeks to develop full protection and flu cases typically rise by late October.

To boost participation, the government has confirmed that both vaccines are fully reimbursed through Monaco’s social security system — a move aimed at removing any financial barriers to preventive care.

The updated vaccines distributed this season are tailored to the latest viral strains circulating in Europe, drawing on ongoing international health surveillance.
