In recognition of her life’s work, the international-bestselling American author Siri Hustvedt will be in Monaco to receive the prestigious 2025 Principality Prize, awarded by the Fondation Prince Pierre. The author will give a keynote lecture (in English), entitled ‘Betweens’ on Friday, October 17 at 19.00. at the Théâtre des Variétés. Entrance is free and all are welcome.

This keynote lecture is organized by the Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco in partnership with the Fondation Prince Pierre, who jointly award the Principality Prize each year to an author for their entire philosophical oeuvre, thus honouring a lifetime of philosophical writing, a singular body of work that has opened new avenues in the field of philosophy and has engaged different approaches to science, politics, theology, history, anthropology, ethics, and psychoanalysis. The Foundation is under the Presidency of HRH The Princess of Hanover and the Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco, is chaired by her daughter Charlotte Casiraghi.

Recipient of many awards over her lifetime, Hustvedt’s novel The Blazing World was longlisted for the 2014 Man Booker Prize and won the 2015 Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Fiction. In 2024, Hustvedt received the Openbank Literature Award by Vanity Fair for her literary career. She has received honorary doctorates from several universities around the world.
