Monaco Telecom has officially introduced VoLTE (Voice over LTE), a powerful new service designed to significantly enhance call quality and reduce interruptions for users across the Principality…

The technology, now available for free to all Monaco Telecom customers, allows voice calls to be made over the 4G network instead of the older 3G system, improving not only audio clarity but also the speed at which calls connect.

Monaco’s unique geography and proximity to national borders have historically posed challenges for mobile connectivity. But with years of infrastructure investment, the operator now reports that 99.65% of calls no longer drop, even when users cross borders into or out of the country. The introduction of VoLTE marks a key milestone in further strengthening that reliability.

“Before, we made calls over 3G. Now, it’s 4G, and that makes a big difference,” said a Monaco Telecom spokesperson. “Calls are established much faster, and quality is drastically improved.”

The operator also noted a sevenfold drop in customer service calls since the introduction of VoLTE—a strong indicator of its success. Activation is quick and simple: it takes just 20 seconds and can be done via a tutorial on the Monaco Telecom website, in-store with assistance from advisors, or even by phone through customer service.

To further enhance coverage, especially in more problematic areas like the Condamine and the Flower district, Monaco Telecom plans continued investment in its mobile network throughout 2025.

With VoLTE now rolled out, Monaco Telecom is reaffirming its commitment to keeping the Principality at the forefront of mobile innovation, ensuring residents and visitors alike benefit from world-class connectivity.
