Overnight from Tuesday October 17 to Wednesday October 18 a civil security exercise will take place under the aegis of France’s Department of the Interior and the Prefecture of the Alpes Maritimes.
The exercise will take place on French territory and will also involve the Principality, particularly the firefighters of Monaco, and is planned between 22:30 and 04:00.
The exercise aims to test the emergency plan that has been in place since 2013, in terms of coordination of all the services involved and to assess their operational capacity.

The scenario involves a technical incident with sudden braking and overheating of train carriages, causing heavy smoke.
As the exercise has been planned to take place during nighttime there will be no disruption of rail traffic or restrictions on parking and pedestrian traffic in the surrounding area.
