In January 2024, Artcurial will pay tribute to the unparalleled creativity of Piaget with an unprecedented sale: “Piaget 150 years”. As part of the preparation for this sale, Artcurial will be holding a real “Piaget Tour” throughout Europe and will offer valuation days in all its offices: Monaco, Milan, and Zurich.
Parisians will also have the opportunity to meet Marie Sanna Legrand every Tuesday. Director of the Watchmaking Department, she is recognised as the leading expert in jewelry watches.
More than an auction, “Piaget 150 years” promises to be a moment of culture, passion and of history that will highlight the different facets of this legendary brand: the extra-thin movements, the extravagance of the 1970s or the Piaget Society embodied by Jackie Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor or Salvador Dali.
Since 2007, Artcurial has made thematic sales watchmaking one of its finest specialties. Among these dedicated sales, orchestrated in Paris and Monaco, some are now considered by collectors around the world as reference sales, in the world of auctions (80 years of Hermès watchmaking in 2007, Jaeger-Lecoultre, Unique Auction in 2011 or again Panerai Only, 2014).
In 2018, Artcurial had already placed Piaget on the centre stage by dispersing the fabulous collection of Gail & Robert Schwartz, the largest retailers of watches in South Africa and former Piaget retailer. In 2022, it is with The Sparkling Collection, a set of exceptional jewelry watches that the French house has recorded spectacular sales results for pieces signed Piaget, some even exceeding the symbolic threshold of €100,000.
