Europe minister Clément Beaune told the France 2 television channel on Tuesday that negative test requirements for vaccinated travellers from outside the EU will soon be dropped. However, no date was given.
“We again required tests in December over the Omicron variant. In the coming days we will announce that tests are no longer needed for vaccinated people,” Beaune said.
Current rules require that those arriving from outside the EU must show a negative test result from the previous 48 hours, even if vaccinated.
“This week there will probably be a new European protocol for vaccinated people arriving from outside the EU, with eased measures,” Beaune said.
However, in France fully-vaccinated means also having had a booster jab.
