As reported by Monaco-Matin, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office says it has sent two requests for international legal assistance to the Principality, one proposing a formal joint inquiry. Ukrainian officials claim those requests have not yet received a response, although Monaco submitted its own request for evidence and further investigative work on July 31.
Ermolaev, his partner and their 13-year-old son were seriously injured when an explosive device was remotely detonated at their Monaco residence on June 29. Ukrainian authorities are investigating the case as an attempted contract killing carried out using methods that endangered several lives.
Two men have been arrested in Kyiv in connection with the subsequent killing of Anastasiia Berezovska, the woman suspected of placing the device. However, the person or group behind the Monaco attack has not been publicly identified.
Ukraine says investigators are examining every possibility, including the involvement of additional organisers and the motive for the attack. Ermolaev has repeatedly warned that the threat to his family remains and urged both countries to exchange evidence without delay.
Monaco’s prosecutor had not responded publicly to the latest claims at the time of reporting.
