The Monaco E-Prix is here to stay. The Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) and Formula E have officially confirmed the extension of their partnership through 2031, cementing the race’s place among the fixtures of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship calendar.
Alongside the announcement, organisers also confirmed updated dates for next year’s event: the 2027 Monaco E-Prix will now take place on May 1 and 2, rather than the May 15-16 dates originally announced. The change is designed to fit more smoothly into the Principality’s broader 2027 events calendar while avoiding a clash with the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Since its debut in 2015, the Monaco E-Prix has grown into one of the standout events on the Formula E calendar. Originally held every two years, the race became an annual fixture from 2021 and now takes place across the full Circuit de Monaco, delivering an increasingly intense spectacle for drivers and spectators alike. Formula E’s presence in the Principality has also become a platform for showcasing wider sustainable mobility initiatives.
In a statement, the Automobile Club de Monaco said it was pleased to confirm the extension of its partnership with Formula E through 2031, describing the agreement as underscoring the Principality’s central role in the evolution of electric mobility and securing the long-term future of an event that has become a fixture of the international calendar. The ACM added that it looked forward to continuing this journey alongside Formula E and contributing, year after year, to Monaco’s global prestige.
The extension comes as Formula E prepares to enter a new era with the arrival of the GEN4 car, promising even greater performance and a more compelling spectacle from the 2026-2027 season onward. Monaco audiences were given an early look at the new car during the 2026 edition of the E-Prix, when it took part in a demonstration on the Circuit de Monaco.
As in previous years, the fully electric single-seaters will race across the full Circuit de Monaco over a weekend featuring two rounds of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Ticketing details for the 2027 event are expected to be announced in the coming months.
