Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco have reached a complete agreement over the transfer of Maghnes Akliouche, according to reports from RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins, with the French champions set to pay a fee of €50 million for the 24-year-old attacking midfielder.
The two clubs finalised the agreement on Friday morning, bringing an end to weeks of negotiations that had, according to multiple French outlets, seen Monaco reject several earlier offers from PSG before finally accepting the French champions’ fifth proposal. Akliouche is now expected to travel to Paris to complete the move, with reports indicating he is set to sign a five-year contract, though the date for his medical has not yet been confirmed.
A France international who featured at this summer’s World Cup, Akliouche joins PSG as a replacement, numerically, for Kang-in Lee, following a season in which he made 25 appearances for Monaco across all competitions, contributing six goals and ten assists in Ligue 1 alone according to recent figures, while also playing a key role in the club’s Champions League campaign. He had been under contract with Monaco until 2028.
The move brings to a close what had reportedly become an increasingly complex negotiation between the two clubs, with earlier reports this week describing the deal as close but still facing obstacles over financial and contractual details. Should the transfer be finalised as expected, it would rank as the most expensive Ligue 1 sale of the summer transfer window so far.
