The Mairie de Monaco will carry out renovation work on the forecourt of the Cemetery’s chapel, whose surface has significantly deteriorated over time, requiring the temporary closure of certain areas of the site from Monday, August 3, to Monday, August 10, 2026, inclusive.

The closure period is intended to allow the works to be carried out safely and to give the concrete adequate time to dry under optimal conditions.

During this time, access will be entirely prohibited to the vaults of the Chèvrefeuille section, formerly known as Section C West, as well as to the plots within the Chèvrefeuille gallery, formerly the ground-floor C West gallery.

To ensure everyone’s safety and preserve the dignity of the site, no memorial gatherings or blessings will be permitted in the affected areas for the duration of the works. The Communal Estate Department has stated that the work will be carried out with the necessary care, in strict respect for the deceased and the memorial character of the site.

The Mairie de Monaco has thanked families and visitors for their understanding regarding the disruption caused by the works, which it describes as necessary for the ongoing maintenance and preservation of the Cemetery.

Visitors seeking further information can contact the Cemetery Office, located at the upper entrance of the cemetery at 4 Avenue Pasteur, on +377 93 15 22 77.
